Those starting from Pianello, Secchiano, or Cagli will reach the crossroads for Moria – Cantiano on the Cagli – Pianello Provincial Road. From here, a steep climb on asphalt leads to Moria [1], a small town divided between the municipalities of Cagli and Cantiano. Continue, without too much effort, until the crossroads for Cantiano – Vilano, where you turn right.

The road to Vilano is easy with splendid views towards the Serra di Burano, in front of you [2], and towards Monte Nerone, on your right [3]. Along the way you come across the commemorative stone of the Battle of Vilano, where a group of partisans managed to make a large Nazi-fascist detachment retreat [4], and, further on, the small and evocative church of S. Maria della Neve [5], which reminds us of the climate of this area, which is anything but mild in winter.

Having reached and passed Vilano, another pleasant stretch [6] introduces us to a series of small villages, now almost abandoned: Casa Troppola, Spinabeto [7], Col di Billo. Names that now mean little even to those who live in the territory of Catria and Nerone, but whose memory it is important to keep alive.

Once you reach a crossroads, turn left towards Caimarini [8] and continue towards Ca Valle di Pietra, always maintaining a splendid view of Monte Nerone [9]. The road changes from asphalt to white and continues slightly uphill, often closed in the woods [10]. You pass a gate and continue until you reach the borders of the Bosco Di Tecchie Park [11]. Now the road bends to the right to head north. Soon the surface becomes more natural [12], but still well marked. With Monte Nerone [13] in front of you and cycling alongside the woods [14], you arrive at Casalvecchio [15], where the trail seems to get lost. Don't worry! on the left you will find the gate of a fence where the path continues.

The first stretch is rideable, then, due to the disruption created by the force of the water, it is necessary to push the bicycle on foot for a few meters. Be careful, the passage is narrow. Soon the track becomes wider. In this pleasant downhill stretch you still encounter a series of houses and places, some renovated others abandoned, that we like to name: Casale di sopra, Caiburanesi [16], Fossatone, Casal di Sotto, Casellina, Campo, Calagreto.

The road reconnects with the provincial road to Cagli. Turn right, go past the La Ferraia farmhouse and, after about 600 m, turn right again onto a steep uphill dirt road. From here you can enjoy a splendid view of the Ciortano torrent valley [17], which leads to the Pietralunga pass. At the end of the climb, turn left onto a stretch of asphalt road, which you have already travelled. Continue downhill, admiring the enchanting landscape towards Caimarini [18] and reach Caimercati [19]. The descent continues with views of Moria and the ridge of Monte Petrano, Monte Tenetra and Monte Acuto [20] and Pianello [21], which you reach in a few minutes.
