Description
Park your car next to the first houses in Calamello, a small hamlet of Cagli, near Acquaviva. Then, continue walking until just before the hamlet of Caberto. Here, turn left, following the signs for the Cammino dei Cappuccini and the Cammino del Duca.
After a stretch on a meadow between two cultivated fields, with beautiful views of Mount Campifobio, the trail enters a mixed deciduous forest managed as a coppice. In this section, it's very important to pay attention to the trail markers for the two paths: you'll encounter many trails that end shortly afterward or lead in the wrong direction. There are no orientation problems if you've downloaded the GPS track, which I always recommend.
The path through the woods joins a dirt road that descends toward Paravento, a charming and well-maintained fraction of Cagli. We've provided a description of it in the article dedicated to the route WLK10 Paravento – 1.
Once you reach the village center, you pass the old elementary school, now closed, whose size suggests the large number of children who attended it. If this is your first time in Paravento, I recommend a quick stroll through the village few streets.
The route continues along a wide dirt road that climbs up to the edge of the village of Caicaccia, then descends towards the Cagli-Frontone provincial road. Here, turn left, walking carefully along the short stretch of paved road, then turn left again to return to the village of Calamello.
