A rather long, but not challenging, route that loops around places of great beauty and steeped in history. The Battle of Vilano took place here, marking a major victory for the partisan forces against the Nazi-Fascists. Don't miss the little church of the Madonna della Neve and, above all, the beautiful and imposing parish church of San Crescentino.
Not many people know about this trail, which takes you on a pleasant, effortless walk in less than two hours near the Parish Church of San Crescentino and the Balbano stream. You're unlikely to encounter anyone else; the magnificent scenery in every direction will keep you company.

This long but not strenuous walk is one of the most pleasant due to the variety of landscapes and the presence of houses and small settlements along the way. It's an ideal walk for those staying or staying overnight in Cantiano.

It's an ideal walk for those staying or staying overnight in Cantiano.
The route offers magnificent views of the ridge from Monte Nerone to Monte Catria and the stretch of the Burano River valley just above Pontericcioli. However, I must admit it's not among my favorites, and I'm only including it for completeness: it offers little shade, there are no interesting buildings or villages, and you have to travel a short stretch of busy road. The presence of many sheepdogs on a sheep farm also makes it a drawback.
A truly pleasant and undemanding route, starting from Cantiano and reaching the small hill of Collalto, south of the town. It includes sections of paved road with little traffic and interesting to explore. The upper section of the route offers stunning views in every direction. Ideal for those residing or staying overnight in Cantiano.
A very interesting and varied route that circumnavigates Monte Petria, a hill about 1,000 meters above Chiaserna di Cantiano, directly opposite the Catria Massif. It follows a dirt road, but also includes about three kilometers of easy hiking trails. This area is rarely visited by tourists and hikers, known only to locals. It's an excellent summer route, as it's flanked by forest for long stretches. The route offers spectacular views in all directions.

A leisurely circular route that winds through the valley separating the Catria Massif from Mount Petria, its main town being Chiaserna, famous for its historic Horse Fair. The walk follows a forest path, mostly on dirt roads, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
An easy and short itinerary that, starting from Cantiano, runs through meadows, fields and woods in the valley that separates Monte Petrano from the Serra di Burano. It takes place partly on asphalt roads and partly on dirt roads, but always in the absence of traffic. It can be made more challenging by starting from Cagli or Pianello.
